Stone Restoration

We specialize in rubble stone restoration, always ensuring our projects are completed using compatible materials for the existing structure.

Our Process

Limestone mortar joints are opened by hand using a hammer and chisel to avoid fracturing or damaging vibrations that can be caused by heavy chipping equipment.  Damaged or loose sections are then rebuilt using limestone from local quarries to match the existing stone.   Once necessary rebuilds are completed, a lime based grout is poured into the cavities of the wall filling in gaps and bonding the masonry behind the surface.  Finally the wall is pointed using a traditional lime cement pointing mix.
